Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of Bubble (“we”) for your use of the Bubble app and website. By creating an account or tapping Join bubble, you agree to them and acknowledge our Privacy policy, which explains what information we process. If you do not agree, please do not use Bubble.

Who can use Bubble

Bubble is a private location-sharing app for family and friends. You must be 13 or over to use it. Anyone under 18 should have Bubble set up by a parent or guardian, who decides whether it is appropriate, creates or supervises the account, and manages the device’s location and notification permissions, and who agrees to these terms for them.

Your account

You sign in with your email address using a link or code we email you, so keep access to your email secure. Give us your real name and a working email address, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Bubbles and invitations

A bubble is a private group of people who share their locations with each other. You join a bubble with an invite code or link from someone already in it. Each invitation can be used once and expires after seven days. Only invite people you know and who want to join. Bubble administrators can manage membership and saved places, but cannot change another member’s choice to share their location.

Sharing your location

Bubble shares your location only with the members of bubbles you have joined, and only while you have location sharing turned on. You can pause sharing, turn off alerts, leave a bubble or delete your account at any time. You must not use Bubble to track, monitor or locate anyone who has not agreed to it, or to put a device in someone’s possession without their knowledge.

Using Bubble properly

You agree not to:

• use Bubble to harass, stalk, threaten or harm anyone, or to break the law;
• try to access other people’s accounts, bubbles or locations, or interfere with how Bubble or its security works;
• copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, or send automated requests that overload the service; or
• upload pictures or names that are unlawful, abusive or that you have no right to use.

Not an emergency service

Locations, arrival and departure alerts and check-ins depend on your device, its settings and battery, and your network connection, so they can be inaccurate, late or missing. Bubble is not an emergency or safety service and must not be relied on in an emergency or where someone’s safety depends on it. In an emergency, contact the emergency services.

Your content

You keep ownership of the name, picture and other content you add. You give us permission to store it and show it to the members of your bubbles so the service can work, and only for that purpose.

Our rights

Bubble, including its design and software, belongs to us and our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the app for its intended purpose while you follow these terms.

Changes and availability

We may update, suspend or stop parts of Bubble, for example to fix problems or improve the service, and some versions may be pre-release test versions that change or stop working. We aim to give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.

Ending your use

You can stop using Bubble at any time and permanently delete your account from Settings in the app. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or use Bubble in a way that puts others at risk.

Our responsibility

Bubble is provided “as is”, without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error free or always accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control such as network or device failures. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Changes to these terms, law and contact

We may update these terms as Bubble changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published, and continuing to use Bubble means you accept the updated terms.
